A Psycho-Pass First Impression

THIS REVIEW MAY CONTAIN MAJOR SPOILERS AND MY BIASED OPINIONS  WHICH IS FOR THE PURPOSES OF PROMOTING  DEBATE AND DISCUSSION.

   Hello fellow Otakus, I'm Back with a First Impression on the Anime PSYCHO-PASS.

 The Series takes place in the near future when it is possible to instantaneously measure and quantify a persons State of mind and Personality.
This information is recorded and processed and the term "Psycho-Pass" refers to a standard used to measure an individuals Psychological state of Mind. The story centers around the newly Drafted Inspector Akane Tsunemori who is in charge of supervising the Enforcement Division comprising of Six Individuals,including Enforcer Shinya Kougami, Enforcers whose duty is the apprehension of Potentially dangerous Individuals and Maintenance of Public Order.

 i've Been really excited for this show..not when it first came out initially but it has grown and grown and has been on my radar for some time now..Funny because Ive just Finished watching the show Puella Magi Madoka Magica ...A show written by...Guess who?? Guess?? the UroButcher himself Gen Urobuchi the man responsible for the epicness that is Fate/Zero and other works such as Saya No Uta,Blassreiter and you can imagine my glee when i found out he was doing a new show...and going in about 3 episodes i can see that this show has the potential to be really gripping as well as a breath of fresh air which is what i thing this season needed.

 This story's Premise invokes genuine interest in me..Its Dark, its Gritty ..the scent of mystery is in the air..and my mind is waiting and ready to be toyed with,twisted and all around fornicated. In a world where my very thoughts are made as clear as day to everyone else ..somehow the thought of that disturbs me..like an invasion of privacy at its peak where a person can be held accountable for every emotion,Desire and inclination..A world where just thinking " F*** THE POLICE would have you labelled as a potential criminal and looked at as the hell spawn of an Aizen X Hitler mashup by the rest of law abiding society.

    At the same time it excites me to think how far Technology can go and all the good it can do as well as all the Psychological implications that it can have on society.

 Having said that it is evident that the introduction to the plot is well executed while completely dragging you into its pace..it is quite the fast paced anime in the beginning btw..and i found it a wee bit difficult to follow all the technical detective lingo that was being spouted.. terms like "latent Criminal","Crime-coefficient" and "Psycho Hazard" but other than that you are dragged into this pace of no return seeing myself finish all three eps with ease and still wanting more! i almost feel sorry for the guys that watch this weekly it must kill your very soul to have to wait 7 WHOLE DAYS!! to see whats going on next ..i almost pity Myself coz I'm going to breeze thorough this and be in the same position and have to wait 6 WEEKS to finish it!!

  The main characters in this show have all more or less been introduced within the 3 ep timeframe but I'm gonna only look at Akane and Shinya since they've been the main focus of the eps so far..So Akane Tsunemori...She interests me..shes timid and gentle in nature..impressionable and innocent but i don't feel like shes gonna be the generic anime female if i know Urobuchi I bet hes gonna play with her character and take it to places id never expected for her ..like the contrast of demeanor in the OP video and in the show.. something id love to see...I can already see shes a feisty one she has a humanity and stance on human values that no one in the team seems to have..I just wish she was a Lil less timid and didn't look like a 15 yr old lanky boy in that In-between phase Lolz! Either way she feeds my curiosity and I think I'm gonna enjoy her development. 

  We also Have Kogami Shinya..I can already see that this one is a Regular Badass! AWWWW YEAHHHHH!

LOL! joking!he isn't that far gone already but he does look and act pretty badass..few words to this one and lots of action...i mean the dude on top of looking tough has bloodlust about him..prob someone who flies off the handle lots,makes rash decisions for the heck of it and isn't afraid to get dirty or underhanded.

   Physically tough and mentally stubborn is what i see in the show But following Urobuchi Gen's Rule of inversion(completely made that up) we see him in the OP video looking nervous and scared ..in "fight or Flight mode"..running,falling and being shot at by Akane..his appearance may serve to fool me as to what hes going to bring to this Show.

Did you guys just bloody see what I saw? Nigga crushed a Cigarette with his bare hand!..imma try that.

ART SOUND AND DOMINATORS

The Art is pretty solid..nothing too different from the standard that current anime has set but the CG they use is so subtle and well placed it does more to elevate the show than hurt it..this is a Production I.G work we are talking about Not anything from Gonzo *thank God*! 

the OST I feel is not matching this stage well ..they prob chose OSTs that best matched this show in its best moments and applied it everywhere and this introductory phase is just that..So i wont say more too little to go on. I Really like the OP track Abnormalize and the ED track by Egoist..love the Dubstep there really going for EPIC this time definitely on my download list.

PRETTY AWESOME!!

  Psycho Pass an anime with a ton of potential and a Powerhouse Writer and Production Studio behind, it is definately something to look forward to and something you must catch its Going strong and hasn't made any mistakes so far Managing to grip and hold the attention for these few introductory episodes and should be on all your watch Lists.
